The closest grocery shop is Sainsbury's which is about a 5 minute walk from the house. Alternatively there's a Budgens (which we prefer because it has some nice local goods)
Hassocks also has a nice bakers Bake Out
Adastra Park is a large park at the other end of Hassocks.
Parklands Play Area is closer, but smaller (see below for directions).
There is a hidden park not far from the house. Go out of the house and head left along Ockenden Way. Almost opposite, across the road and to the right is a path that leads to a bridge over a stream. Immediately after the bridge turn right into the woods. Follow the muddy path across a wooden bridge, as you emerge from the woods you should see the play area in front of you.
If you want visit Brighton we would suggest going by train as many of the car parks are closed under Covid conditions.
Alternatively drive to Hove and park on seafront near Hove Bowling Club. You will have to pay for parking, but it will be much cheaper than parking in Brighton. It's possible to walk into Brighton from there along the prom.
